How to Build a Salon Website

Social media portfolios can bring clientele walking through your door or get them asking when they can get their hair done in your direct messages. However, it’s important to remember that your Instagram or Facebook pages aren't a substitute for a salon website. Make sure your clients have an actual place to schedule an appointment with you. It will make their life—not to mention, yours—much easier! Here are some tips on creating a real site:

Website Layout

Build your salon’s website with a free developer like Squarespace or Wordpress or hire a designer to create it for you. Next, customize your site with the pre-made templates or create one of your own. Once you're set on the design, fill in information about your salon.

About Us Page

Introduce yourself! Take into consideration that potential customers want to know about you, your salon, and what it specializes in. Inform them with why you started doing hair, when you opened your salon, what your vision is for it, who your employees are, what brands you carry, what services you specialize in, etc. We encourage a few photos of the salon and staff, too.

Service Page

List the services and prices your salon offers. Don’t forget to include what comes with the service (i.e., a trim with highlights or a full color or a style with a haircut) and the amount of time the service will take.

Contact Us Page

A page where clients can contact you can seem like a no-brainer, but it’s often forgotten. Make this page prominent and easy to find. Add your salon’s hours, address, phone number, and contact information form so potential or existing clients can email you if they have any questions.

Photo Gallery

People love to see beautiful hair—show off the work you created! Upload your before and after pictures of your work to showcase your talent. You can also direct your viewers to your social media channels on your gallery page.

Save yourself the trouble of having clients forget their appointment or ask you when your next availability date is. Create your website for your salon today with these tips.
